This set of photos was taken on may 20, 2013 at 10:29 am,
The location was on a sidewalk in busy downtown Washington DC,
The "Take It!" came from my being a forever admirer of the Italian Vespa motor scooter. There is just something very cool about the way they have stayed the same over all these years with
very few modifications to the body shape, etc. As I approached this particular one while walking on the same sidewalk upon which it was parked - I knew I was going to take a shot of it as it was
classic Italian red in color and looked to be relatively new. I lined it up - and started at the front. I took the first shot and decided to have a closer look at the sticker that seemed to
be almost color coded to match the scooter paint. Imagine my surprise when I read the contents of the sticker. I just do not think there could be a cooler name for a surf shop - just great.
This of course changed the theme of the photo session immediately - lol.
The After Take: Most I have I shown this to - got it right away. To some - I had to explain it - but that was quite ok. All thought it was definitely symbolically cool in numerous
ways. I must confess - it took me back to those long ago days when I surfed - even though I did it on the opposite coast. Surfing is definitely a thrill of a lifetime.
Here is hoping you are either engaged in, or are an observer of some of your favorite things.
Wishing you the best,
Perhaps a ride on a red Vespa might just be the treat that will make your day. Please wear a helmet.
