A Glove Turtle

9/29/19

This photo was taken on September 20, 2019 at 8:35.

The location was in a crosswalk in the City Center District in Washington DC.

The "Take It!” came on the second day after having first seen this black leather glove that had some how found its way into the crosswalk of this busy intersection.

It was on my return trip through this crosswalk that I happened upon a viewing of the correct angle in which the random folds of the leather lined up to give me the illusion of a black turtle (at least the front half of it). I did my usual limiting of mental debate as to the potential of this illusion - and went ahead with the taking of the photograph.

After having shared the title for the photo - I then showed it to a number of people, who thankfully "got it" right away. Their reactions were a delight to witness as the subject was so unexpected (as it was for me as well).

Here is hoping your days have good times in them as well.

Best regards,

Bruce

I thought it was a hoodie at first glance. Even after seeing the title, I was convinced it was a hoodie. My wife informed me I was wrong.

My daughter saw the turtle before I even asked her what she saw!

Is that a latex glove? If so, I do like Glove Turtle better than Latex Turtle.

That looks like just the thing my kid would have tried picking up when he was a child, and I would have swatted it right out of his hand.

After reading your thoughts I see its a leather glove, so I would still say Glove Turtle is better than Leather Turtle.
