Government Support System

11/15/13

This set of photos was taken in the second week of September in 2013.

The location was on the grounds of the Library of Congress in Washington DC.

The "Take It!" Came from first seeing the twist in the trunk of this great old tree - then noticing the crutch like supports put in place to help bear the weight so that it could stand up.  Part of the fun of this photo set is looking at the age of the support pieces. One is dark showing it has been in place for a while - and the other is lighter, showing it had been put in place at a later date.

The After Take:  People who saw the photo were quite taken with the fact that this old tree was being saved.  There is a small plaque at the base of the tree that I will endeavor to go back and take a moment to read which may have the answer to this question.  The shots of the tree were "jump out of the car while stopped at a traffic light"

It is nice to see our Government taking care of this senior citizen.

Wishing you the very best,

Bruce

101 year old tree. I can only hope that I can still stand with a little help when I am that age.
