A Touch of Color in a Drab Morning

12/14/14

This set of photos was taken on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 8:52 AM

The location was in the Balston area of Arlington, Virginia

The "Take It!" came from having engaged in a highly stressful morning of driving in the rain and crowded condition,  the corner of my eye caught this small bit of colorful reflection in the windshield of a tattered car.  It just seemed to offer the right change of pace at the right time.  The departure from gray sky's, streets and sidewalks and in this instance the car itself, was perfect.   Even though the color contrast display was for a brief instant - it was ever so right, and appreciated.  I jumped out of the car as soon as it could be accommodated and walked back to take these two photos.  One for the tightly framed image - the other for the context.

The After Take:  to the few I have shown this to - almost all seemed to like it as a pair.

The take away from this experience seemed to be something about looking for the bright side, or in this instance  the brightness came from a spot.

This "catch"  went along with me all through the gray day, and had me smiling, knowing there was a lucky sharing sitting in the camera in my pocket.

Wishing everyone a great day (even if it is in the rain),

Bruce

Its so clear on that windshield. There isn't a ripple of water in the light poles reflection

The yellow really stands out against the "drab" of the car and surrounding area.
