Look to the Left

12/15/19

This photo was taken on December 7, 2019 at 5:28 AM.

The location was on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington DC.

The "Take It!” came as I was driving in the early morning time frame on the newly assigned campus location on my part time route.  There is construction happening in several places which affect the roads and thus call for the Jersey Walls to provide protection and direction. It was after viewing the Jersey walls for several days that the semblance of a face began to appear to me in the forming of the surface of the plastic from which they are formed. The eyes having the full  through square holes, the nose being an indentation and finally the name of the manufacturer printed in very visible black lettering under the nose - to give it a mouth like addition - to fill out the face like appearance.

With all the above being in place and the early still dark time of the morning there was no traffic and thus I had time to contemplate the placement of these faces and strictly per chance, through the angle of my positioning of the car with my headlights on the figures was able to see them looking left in unison. This made for a touch more fun in the line up.

The After Take: When showing the photo to others while it is in the camera - found everyone able to understand the interpretation which was verbally presented prior to the showing. Most said they would look at Jersey Walls in a new way in the future. I cautioned that not all walls are the same as there are different mold designs which are out there. All agreed to keep that in mind.

The Jersey Wall shown is a temporary type and not a permanent installation as is found as a divider in many roads.

Best wishes,

Bruce

I actually ran into some of those things about 20 years ago.

Do you have a dash cam or did you actually take that picture while driving?

I have never seen those without reflectors on them. I do not see well at night when driving, so I am very appreciative they put reflectors on them here.

I dont have anything interesting to comment on this photo however I did want to take the time to thank you for keeping this websites content coming all these years. It often amazes me when I come here and see a new picture, literally every week. I cannot imagine I would have enough interesting things to say to keep it going. It really is amazing!
