Floral Knock Out

This photo was taken on Saturday October 13, 2012.

The location was in the lobby of a hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.

The "Take It!" came from my having walked by this flower, which was mixed into a big flower arrangement, twice. Each time I walked by it the flower seemed to jump out and grab my attention. I finally gave in and took its picture for it was almost unreal in how perfect it seemed to my eye.

The After Take: Everyone I have shown this to has given the same response. Many times when I am showing a photo that is still in my camera, I will hand it to the person so that they may hold it in their hands to bring the image to just the right distance from their eyes in order for them to enjoy the shot. This was one of those photos where people reached out for the camera as if wanting to hold the flower in their hands. I have to say, the vividness of this photo had me joining them in passing them the image almost like it was the flower itself and the camera was all but forgotten.

I almost feel like this photo has escaped from the section we have on this site under "Flowers for Fun." This image was just too vivid and the reactions to it were so strong that I felt it needed to join us on the big stage.

Thank you for those who visit the "Flowers for Fun" section on a regular basis, and may even send an e-card from it. For those who have not been there, please take a moment each week to go there as many of the flowers and arrangements shown are splendid.

Thanks for joining us for the current photo presentation. You are cordially invited to return Tuesday, December 11th for a new picture that we hope you will enjoy.

Wishing you a great day,

Bruce

That flower really stands out compared to the others.
