Truck Tattoo

11/15/22

These photos were taken on September 21, 2022 at 10:38 AM.

The location was in the Georgetown section of Washington DC.

The "Take It!" came as I followed this truck on a stop and go street which allowed me to comprehend what I was looking at - and grab my camera to take several photos of what I think is one of the coolest graphics I have ever seen.

I have always held a lot of admiration for those workers who handle electrical matters while being up high on a pole. Lots of trust in their equipment must be constantly in play - along with the training and skill it takes to qualify to do this precision work.

This is more of a tribute to the workers than anything else. We depend on them every moment of the day and night.

All my very best,

Bruce

My brother would love this, he climbs poles for AT&T.

I don't think I've ever seen a bumper sticker that blends so well.

We used to climb those at kids and get yelled at by every adult in the neighborhood.

Seriously, I don't know how those men and women do it. I couldn't climb that pole, much less do electrical work while hanging on to it.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful comments. Jim - Please pass along my thanks to your Brother for his important great work. I hope you can pass along a copy of the posting to him for his enjoyment. Sally - Your description wording is spot on. SF1967 - Thank you for sharing the memory from your childhood. You and your friends were certainly gutsy kids and I would imagine - this was not the only danger game you enjoyed - lol. GpaJake - Your initial impression of the image - is ever so valid - great call. MHAMPY - You and I as well as many others share your view. As chance would have it - there was a recent rescue of occupants of a small plane in our area - which got caught in power wires having made an error in landing approach. The newspaper article describing the rescue - was comprehensive - and included - the words of the lead from the Fire Department - as saying - just doing our job - type of modest response. There are brave people that come alive when called upon - Thanks again - to them. Jim - this goes to your Brother as well.
