A Shadow Reaches a Pinnacle

This photo was taken on October 18, 2016  at 9:45AM.

The location was in a fringe of the Georgetown section of Washington DC.

The "Take It!"  arrived as I walked out the door of a very nice hotel that I usually have scheduled on my stop by list for far earlier in the morning (when the sun has not yet come up). The later time, with sun up, offers so many more things to see.  This is like having a whole another world show up in the very same foot print as that of the limited display in the night.

I have gotten ahead of myself, as I was quite taken with this ever so specifically placed shadow.  In all probability, it only lasts for a short while and moves as the sun changes its location as the seasons present themselves and thus the shifts in solar positioning.

Ever so fortunate was I to catch this little show and to be able to share it, that much more a joy.

The After Take:  I cannot help but wonder if anyone that occupies the building that offers the balcony from which the shadow has been formed, goes outside and looks at this little bit of artful enhancement it provides for its neighbor.

Musings make great companions for some of the photos I am lucky enough to take.

Here is hoping an unplanned delay in a routine of yours, allows for an unexpected pleasant surprise.

Wishing you a fine day,

Bruce

I know this exact building. We have some photos of it somewhere around here. I have stopped to look at it multiple times when we take our students to DC. Great photo!

I am chaperoning the DC trip for our school with Teri the first time this Spring. She mentioned she knew this very building. I'm going to ask her to show me while we are there.

And here I thought Georgetown was one of the "younger" areas in DC. At least when it comes to its patrons. Good to see some of histories bricks still lay complete in an area like this one.

Is it under renovation? This place looks like it has the potential to have a ton of interesting shadow play.

Well the little ones didn't get much from this one. Nothing to work their little imaginations on, About the extent I got out of them was "its broke, they should put a new one up." Jim and I loved it though. It creates a beautiful backdrop, such a lovely photograph.
