Tasty Serving Spoon

1/23/23

These photos were taken on January 13, 2023 at 8:57 AM.

The location was in the kitchen sink at my home in Beltsville, Maryland.

The "Take It!" came after having purchased this eye catching serving spoon on a display rack in my favorite hardware store - located in Bethesda MD. The store is loaded with everything a hardware store is supposed to have - and is supplemented with lots of impulse items that are rotated through quickly and are very closely watched to see just how fast they sell in order to determine if they are to become a regular on sale item - or not. I applaud the store buyers ability to pick winners.

This spoon caught my eye as I have been lucky enough to find a great lady who is terrific company and also - just happens to be an excellent cook. I long ago was introduced to the saying " Eye appeal is half the meal " and found it to be very true through the course of my life* I thought this colorful spoon might just supplement a food item by being a colorful accessory and conversation piece when on display in a buffet or self serving setting.

While the title for this photo/story uses the word "Tasty" the spoon cannot be eaten - but is certainly a work of art found to appeal to the viewer/user's - taste.

Here is hoping this weeks story has served up a smile.

Wishing everyone great company with great meals,

Bruce

* Oh yes! There have been some exceptions. Such as: I was almost tricked into eating KALE ! after it had been mixed into a beautiful salad. I on the other hand - am a big fan of cooked peas - which cannot be hidden in anything - lol - and for some - are just plain - awful. Another testimony to all of us thankfully - being a bit different

PS: My Lady Friend loves her new spoon.

This note has been delayed as I returned to the store from which I bought the spoon to buy another to take another photo of the spoon and include photos of the information tag attached to the item. I realized the original photos did not give the colors full justice - and at the reasonable cost of the additional spoon - would send along some info for anyone else that might be interested in buying one for themselves - or as a gift ( hint - hint ).
Please note - the spoon needs careful washing and maintenece - but I think it is worth it - as it is such a conversational show peice. It is laminated with each layer being dyed before being glued toghther - then cut into the spoon shape via a computer controlled lazer cutter. Through the course of time - all of this mfg process has become more economical - thus the reasonable price for the item as retail. All my best. Bruce

Tasty is appropriate. It looks like one of those giant lollipops out of Wizard of Oz.

I wonder how they made that. It looks stained not painted.
