A Trident, Upon Reflection

This photo was taken on December 10 , 2015 at 8:34 AM.

The location was at the Ballroom Entrance to a very nice hotel in Tyson's Corner, Virginia.

The "Take It!" came after having walked on or over this great reflection on my way in to the hotel.

I only partially saw it as I made my way in, with my objective more in mind than dwelling on my surroundings in transit. This former diminished attention getter was sharply brought into focus on my way out.  It was a stop in my tracks moment as I took in the reflection on the carpet and then looked for the surface source that brought this to being.  It was certainly  a first, finding a polished door frame being the provider of the bounce.  What fun.

The After Take:  The several that I showed this one to, thought it was very cool indeed.  Perhaps you  will too.

This was another testament to that old saying about "Watch your Step!"

I hope you have had a great day.

Wishing you all my best,

Bruce

The Trident is my favorite photo of 2016 so far.

When I look at the other reflection coming through, I see either a longbow or a fishing pole with fishing line hanging next to it.

Perfect identification, I looked at the photo before reading the name because my wife left it open for me to look at, and the first thing I thought was 'Wow that looks like a trident.' Even though its on a flat surface, it actually is quite three dimensional.

    Hi Bruce,
I hope all is well with you. Thank you for continuing to work with Taylor while I needed him, we are all very appreciative. I had my ipad with me while I was in the hospital and I very much enjoyed looking through your pictures and reading your thoughts and musings. I am now back to looking at them regularly because Taylor showed me how to make a shortcut for your website on my ipad. Hope to see you this summer.

The naturalesque photographs will always be my favorite but this one takes the cake for the "non-nature" category. The sun was at just the perfect angle to create that design on the floor.

My students are heading into Greek Literature in just over a month. I will show them this when they learn about Poseidon.
