Restaurant Row

12/28/12 -103-

This photo series was taken on November 20,2012 at 12:45pm.

The location was in Tyson's Corner, Virginia.

The "Take It!" came from my shock in seeing this many Food Trucks all in one location.  Seven of them lined up waiting for the lunch crowd to come out of the surrounding office buildings.  I had seen as many as 4 together before but never this many.

The After Take:  The first photo seems to say a lot. Perhaps the couple in the middle of the street was faced with so many choices that making a decision was not easy. I watched them go from truck to truck looking at the menu's.

I took a few extra moments to photo each of the trucks which are on some great art work.  Others are as they say " not so much ".  Each are staffed by independent business people who take a chance on profit every day.  I wish each and every one of them well. I have tried several meals from trucks and found them to be quite good.

I would like to encourage each of you to give one of these trucks a try for a meal if and when they show up in your area. Of course, the menu has to offer what you like. I think you will find the service to be excellent and often lots of fun.

Thanks for joining us for the current photo presentation. You are cordially invited to return Friday, January 1st for a new picture that we hope you will enjoy.

Best wishes to each of you,

Bruce

So many decisions! Have you tried any of them?

This one cracks me up. It almost seems like it would be more beneficial to have your food truck somewhere where there weren't like 10 others.

    Hi Livin4love,

Your logic is just fine. I must say - these folks that run the trucks are ever so sharp in finding out where they are able to do the most business. They tweet all the customers that they can to let them know where they are going to be in advance. This location has a lot of huge office buildings very close by - so I think they are almost assured of good business.

    Hi Gabe:

Yes - they have the menu on the side of the truck. Some change the menu daily. Almost all of them have a paint job with graphics on the truck that matches up with the type of food they serve. It is as much an art form as it is a food outlet for some. There never seems to be fewer than 4 trucks at a time at this location.

    Hi Ray:

Yes - I have tried two of them. One was selling lobster rolls. It was absolutely delicious. Not cheap but reasonable in price. The other was some type of unusual sausage sandwich that was served on a great roll. The Chef/Owner asked me to email him with my observations on the taste of the food and the experience in general. I gave him high marks.

If one has an easy time with talking with strangers - the waiting in a line for a food truck can be a lot of fun. I found everyone to be in a sort of jovial mood.

Wow, a menu that changes daily!? That seems like a lot of work. I agree with Ray, a lobster sandwich sounds good.

They have these trucks by my house, however not nearly this many.
