1st Day On The Job

2/07/22

This photo was taken on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 9:58 AM.

The location was on the Beltway surrounding Washington DC.

The "Take It!"  Came after being in a rolling traffic jam for nearly a half an hour I noticed the blue truck in the photo coming into view on my left side via the rear view mirror.  While approaching trucks like this are common place - what caught my eye as we moved slowly forward was how clean and shiny the paint was along with the sparkle from the chrome on the front of the truck.  As the truck moved a little faster than I was - I had the chance to observe the cleanliness of all the surfaces - ( even underneath the cab on the frame ).  It then struck me that there was a strong possibility I was looking at a rare sight of a brand new truck - possibly on an early day of its work life.  As the truck pulled further forward and away from me - I got my camera out and was able to take a photo of the rear of the truck - which showed the temporary licence plate which is make of thick paper - that was nearly spotless.  This last bit of display of being clean led me to the conclusion I was seeing a slow start to a hard working career.

I cannot help but wonder how long the interior of the cab of the truck would be able to have that new vehicle aroma that can almost intoxicate a prospective buyer and close the sale - lol.

The rest of my day was happily uneventful.

Wishing everyone my very best,

Bruce

Ah yes, the new truck. I’ve had many trucks and it’s the same every time. That first dent or scratch you put in the bed is a huge bummer, but after a couple years of work, it’s just one of many and they aren’t a big deal.

Looks like some sort of dump truck or trash truck, so that new car smell won’t be around very long lol.

Maybe it had just gone through a car wash. The little bit of the loading ramp that is visible looks like it’s seen some work.
