Fall Down Shadow

2/10/19

This photo was taken on January 11, 2019 at 7:23 AM.

The location was in The Georgetown Section of Washington DC.

The "Take It!" Came after a small bit of hesitation on my part in not quite believing what  my imagination had me seeing.  To see a plastic bag with its handles stretched and open to form the ears was miracle enough - but to then find that they connected to with out too much of a push - to a face - was astounding. The rest of the body fell into place with a reasonable contour - to make this one of the all time great catches.

The After Take: I have shown this to many people and the reaction is almost universal - as I preface the showing with stating that it is a "bag bunny.” Everyone sees the similarity right away and seem to be happy to have gotten in on it with me.  I tell them how grateful I am to have caught it when I did - and that had car run over it - we probably would not have had the same unexpected treat.  Their reaction to my saying this tells me we have a shared sentiment.

Sending you my best regards,

Bruce

For the first time ever I think my imagination beat my younger childs, or any of my children at her age for that matter. I immediately saw the reference and her response was "that's just trash!" I explained it to her but deep down I feel like this is a victory for my adult imagination.

Is there a lot of litter in DC or are you just good at finding it?

Next time a child asks their parent for a pet bunny, they should fold up a bag to look like this. The rabbit population would probably be quite a bit more controlled haha.
