The location was at National Harbor, Maryland.
The "Take It!" came as this wonderful display made itself available as I was finishing a drive through for fast food. I had all the
wrong stuff picked up and was set to get out on the highway on the last leg of my long day where I would wolf it down. At the end of the drive, I happened to look up, and the above was the
view. Rather than turn toward the highway access, I pulled straight forward into an open parking space, got out and took this splendid photo.
The After Take: There has not been one person I have shown this to, that has not been as impressed with it, as I was in being so fortunate to
have captured the moment. I enjoy pointing out that the slight cloud cover over the sun provides just enough of a filter to soften the sun's reflection off the water. This softening
is very essential to setting the soothing mood it seems to generate.
Although it is probably unintended, this fast food restaurant has one of the best views available at this landmark location. Maybe
they could build a second story on the restaurant and have a luxury residence for the owner - lol.
Contributing to this site has changed my level of awareness of what is going on around me. I find myself constantly looking to see a possible
photo opportunity rather than go into zones of preoccupation which I think most of us do. In the recent past - I would have gotten my fries, soft drink, burger, and made it to the
highway just as quickly as I safely could, to be on my way. The glance at this view would have never happened.
Here is hoping you occasion upon a view such as this, and it will leave its wonderful imprint upon your mind.
Wishing you all the best,
