No Excuse

9/16/16

This set of photos was taken on September 5, 2016 at 8:20 AM.

The location was at an intersection in down town Washington DC.

The "Take It!" Came as I was standing on the sidewalk at an intersection waiting for the pedestrian signal to change to allow safer passage to the other side of the street. In my usual way of trying to be always aware of what might be in my surroundings, my eyes brought me to the surface of the street.

There for all to behold was this set of globs of crosswalk paint. As you can see, we are talking not about a little bit of spillage here - but big splotches that speak of a crew that was not paying attention to its game as they put this important material into place.

I cannot help but give a little bit of thought to what went on when it happened.

The After Take: To those who I shared this with, all agreed, it is a debacle for which a cure may be extremely hard to deliver. The material used, and the method of application, is meant to last for many years. And so, this massive paint potato chip may be with us, for quite some time.

Perhaps the little splotch is the chip - and the big one, the dip - lol.

Here is hoping the installation crew has been transferred to focus on a line of endeavor that calls for less precision. In the meantime, I hope you get a laugh out of this word bubble, sitting in waiting in the street in our nation's capital.

Wishing you all my very best,

Bruce

We recently fixed an issue on the site that was causing various pages on the site to not display properly. As we usually receive feedback we wanted to reach out to our community and ask if you can look back and see if you are able to view the following Summer photo's:

Summer #93: A Little Shadow Enhancement

Summer #94: Cymbal Symbiosis

Summer #97: Bow Tie

We thank you for your continued participation and feedback!

Hey there Mr. Bruce. I checked and am able to see the blogs you posted. I remember one of them I passed posting on because I was short on time, and another it looks like I forgot to press send.

Yes we were able to see those. Summer is our busy time with the kids so we can't always make time to read, see & watch everything we would like.

Got a good laugh out of the chips & dip reference.

My husband told me he summed it up already. Great pics, as always. I'll have to go take a second look at the others.

Hey there whutzzat! I cannot say for sure if I saw the above posted, however I stopped checking regularly when you took a break there for a bit. I am getting back into the groove of things recently, of taking a look a couple times per week.
