San Francisco Summer Sunrise Struggle

7/11/22

This photo was taken on June 23, 2022 at 7:18 AM.

The location was from my hotel a accommodation on the 30th floor in San Francisco - looking toward the east.

The "Take It!" was a fun reminder from my time living in San Francisco of the Summer Fog that would often creep in from the ocean in the early evening and cover the city with its cool blanket of moisture until it would be burned off by the morning sun and recede back out to the ocean.

Because of the many hills in the city - there were a variety of weather patterns which existed. Some locations were almost fog free in the summer - while others seemed to rarely be without the fog in the summer months. I found a sunny location early in my stay in the city and lived in that neighborhood for a number of years enjoying the sunshine.

The city is quite different than when I lived there - some thirty years ago. I will visit it again - but am now happy living where I am as enjoy the seasons and the rain fall which results in living with lots of green foliage.

Here is hoping you are happy where you are living.

Wishing you the very best,

Bruce

PS: Should you plan a visit to San Francisco in the summer - please take warm clothing as the fog can chill one to the bone and you can be prepared to take care of this - while in sunny California.

Any idea what that building peaking out on the right is?

My daughter recently learned about wildfires, so we showed her some videos of the fires in Australia and California a few years ago. My goal was to really get it in her head that she needs to be careful with fire. She looked at this picture and thought it was a town on fire.

I bet it smelled wonderful out there. I love that ocean breeze mixed with cloud smell.

That is absolutely San Francisco fog. If there's one thing I do not miss from my time living there, its driving in that dense fog.

Thank you to everyone for your comments and views. The photo could easily be mistaken for featuring smoke from a wild fire. The State has far to many of them as of late. I cannot identify the buildings at this time but will endeavor to find out more about them on my next visit. I did not have time to visit the beach on this visit - but will next time. Driving in the fog is always a call for caution as one must slow way down even though they may be on a road they have used very often - one never knows about the actions of another driver. My very best wishes to everyone. Bruce
