Artful Expression

8/18/19

This photo was taken on August 9, 2019, at 5:14 AM.

The location was in the lobby of an elegant hotel in the Georgetown section of Washington DC.

The "Take It!” has been a while in the coming as I had passed by this simple but elegant art work done in metal many times and had not really thought of it as something to pass along.  On this day it just seemed to be right to share this pleasant image.

By encasing the gymnast in circles - the artist seems to have captured a motion that is often engaged as these athletes perform their routines.  I never seem to tire watching them do gravity defying flips and turns.  Spellbinding to say the least.

Here is hoping this picture may prompt your imagination to recall viewing a spectacular show put on by a star from the past.

Best regards,

Bruce

PS: I so hope there will be a new set of ultra responsible people that will watch over and protect these children as they engage in their pursuit of whatever their sports  or activities may be.

Looks like the inside of a music box my mother had when we were growing up.

I've always wondered where hotels got their artwork. Its always either very classy or very tacky lol.

You're right, it really does seem to capture the movements of a gymnast.

For some reason this reminds me of the 007 intro.
