The Cover Up

8/23/20

These photos were taken on August 16, 2020 at 4:20 PM.

The location was in the bedroom of my home in Beltsville, Maryland.

The "Take It!” came after having made a visit to a liquor store in my former neighborhood as the staff is saving me boxes for a project I have started using used wine bottles.

Some of the boxes used by wineries are quite colorful and or unusual with lots of creativity being used on the outside of their shipping boxes.

On my last visit - they had received a large shipment of wine from Australia - and the brand 'Yellow Tail' was well represented.  I had no idea this winery was such a big user of color on their boxes.  I was able to gather five different varieties of wine from this winery each with its own colored box.

I took four of the boxes and with some measurements and a box knife - made some cubby covers for the Ikea shelves I have in my bedroom.

While it took some time to do the cutting - as I found out some of the boxes were of different sizes - calling for lots of care in the making. I hope you get a kick out of the results which are far more easy on the eye - than before this addition was put into place.

There is no end to the projects I have going at this time.

With very best regards,

Bruce

LOL! When I saw the first photo I thought to myself “wow, he is a big wine drinker.” I had a funny comment I was going to post but after reading the blog I realized the boxes arrive at your home empty.

You have a gift. You can take things people would throw away and turn them into works of art.

Going from the first picture to the second it kinda looks like your car didnt want to be in the photo and is backing away on its own. Ha!

You always come up with the coolest little projects. My daughter and her family is currently staying with us, I bet my granddaughter would love doing something like this. I’ll show this to her and see if she’s interested.

It’s not the focal point of the photo, however I really like those framed photos of the tree stumps. Have you ever posted that one here?

What a strange coincidence. My wife and I had a glass of Yellow Tail Chardonnay with our dinners this week.
