Lady in Marble

9/6/20

This photo was taken on September 1, 2020.

The location was in a new luxury hotel in the City Center district of Washington DC.

The "Take It!" came as I was making my way out of this fine hotel through its marble lined entry level.  The marble used has a run of contrasting veins in it which makes for the chance for many figures to emerge when one engages the right type of imagination to the viewing.

On this particular day - I was not in a hurry and I believe the slower pace helped this lady reveal herself to me.  I had passed over her and nearby her numerous time before - and had not seen her.

She has a long neck and seems to have her hair swept to one side and taken downward to a fall about her neck.  She has pronounced cheeks - and the rest of her features I will leave up to you to fill in.

Here is hoping you too have a location which has large stretches of Marble with contrasting colors which - with imagination - can offer a wealth of figures.

Wishing you a happy day.

Bruce

PS  Here is one of those rare times when the slang term “Go Figure” can be used - with friendly invitation as he core of intent.

I see her! Looks like one of those abstract artist renditions.

She looks like a “dame” from the 30’s.

It kind of looks like she is smoking, doesn’t Lady in Marble know that’s bad for her!?

    Almost no imagination required.
