A Most Unusual Space Divider

7/14/19

This set of photographs was taken on June 28, 2017 at 6:17AM.

The location was in the lobby of a very nice hotel in the Georgetown section of Washington DC.

The "Take It!" came after having spent several years looking at this set of room dividers which helps to partition off a bar from a lobby in this very nice upscale hotel.

The divider is made up of four inch plastic squares that are approximately one eighth of an inch in thickness. There is a hole in the middle of each of the sides which allows a ring to be placed with in it that has been attached to another square. The plastic is light weight - which allows this divider to be made up to have a large size without being too heavy.

I am launching into a project which will find me with scraps of glass which could be made up in the same way. It is understood the glass weighs more - thus the overall size will have to be smaller as do not want it to be too heavy.

It will be a while before I can take this project on as am still unpacking from my move from 14 miles away. I chose to make up this photo story to mark a point in time between us as will be now assembling the materials to make it happen as it is a bit of randomness in the process.

Looking forward to the day when I can reveal my rendition of what is being shown.

Best regards to each of you as we launch into this Summer and all that goes with it.

Bruce

Having a waterfall run down on top or in front of those would look so cool.

Hey that's kind of what my 35 year old "white" tile looks like in my bathroom, lol.

This looks very familiar. I think we may have stayed in this hotel when our school took the 8th grade class to DC last year.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with the scraps of glass. Sounds neat.

I just love stuff like this, it's such a simple concept to make something unique and original.
