A Precast Concrete Sound Deflecting Wall Is Art In Waiting

The location was at very busy intersection near my home in Beltsville, Maryland.

The "Take It!” came after having lived here for just over a year - and having noticed this one color paint over of the many relief figures on this wall - I have made a decision.  I will research who has jusristiction for the up keep of the wall and see what I can do to propose that a student group who has an art class or as a major - take it on to paint in the colors which will bring out the many wonderful shapes to add a touch of splendor to this ho hum but very busy intersection.

I will put up some seed money to help buy paint and supplies to get it rolling and see if I can interest some others who live here to do the same.

Perhaps some business concerns in the town will be willing to sponsor a panel of the wall.

I will post my progress.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Summer,

Bruce

I wish my city would do these artistic barriers. We just have decades old, crumbling concrete.

I love that you're thinking of kids, we need more people like you around.
