Triple Play

7/04/22

This photo was taken on June 24, 2022 at 2:47 PM.

The location was at the San Francisco International Airport in the Airport Shuttle System.

The "Take It!" came as I had seated myself on one of the bench seats at one of the ends of the transit car after leaving off a rental car having made a quick visit to San Francisco to attend an honorary dinner for a friend. The doors to the shuttle had closed and the announcement made to the passengers to hold on while the train was in motion. Since I was seated on one of the two seats in the car and did not need to hold on to anything to be secure - I looked to see what others would do as they were all standing with their luggage beside them. What showed up was the simple but ingenious solution to the tripling of what may have been a single grab bar at one time. I was fortunate that there were several stops made - before an opening in usage occurred - allowing me the chance to take this photo.

This may be a display of engineering 101 - however to my mind - it is of award worthy note.

Here is hoping everyone who chooses to travel this summer - does so - following the safety conveniences offered along the way.

Wishing everyone a great Summer.

Best regards,

Bruce

PS: My big discovery on my round trip flight was to make certain to take with you on board a -very warm jacket - or as I saw one person do - have your own blanket along with you to keep you warm during the flight. For some reason - they keep the temperature unreasonably low during the flight. On the flight out to SF I asked the flight attendant to ask the pilot to turn up the temperature - which was accommodated. On my return flight - the request was denied - much to my surprise and disappointment.

Ah yes, the answer to the age old subway problem: People accidentally grabbing onto someone elses hand.

You should show this to the DC Metro operators. I remember when we went for our students DC trip there was just not enough to grab with all the starting and stopping.

That is a clean looking shuttle. Very different from my experiences with airport shuttles.

I lived just outside of San Francisco up until about 4 years ago. I really miss that city, it was such a beautiful place to live.

Was there Golden State Warriors stuff everywhere in the city? Looks like you were there a few days after they won the NBA Finals and had that big parade.

This one flew right over my daughter’s head. She just could not understand how the title related to a picture of the interior of a bus, even after I showed her. Maybe in a few years lol.
