The Pond Beyond

This photo series was taken in the first week in May 2012 at about noon.

The location is in Fairview, Virginia.

The "Take It!" came from my many viewings of this pond which could be called a very small lake. I took the title for the photo series after the comments we received from the already shown "Tulips in the Median" picture. It seemed only right to take some time and explore that ever so inviting water centered setting. The time was right as it was a Saturday and the pace of that day of the week for me is always a lot more relaxed as there is easier to get around due to less traffic. So, I was ahead of my self imposed schedule and even though the sky was not crystal clear, the time was most enjoyable.

The planners of the development included this lake were brilliant. Anyone who takes the time to walk around the body of water will soon enough lose sight of the many high rise buildings that are masked off by the tall trees. 'Bucolic' is the word that comes to mind.  The water was not clear enough to give those mirror like images reflections, but was still enough to give a sort of muted look which was quite pleasant. There goes imperfection doing some wonders again. I did not take time to actually sit on one of the several park benches that are located at the waters edge but had the chance to see others who were taking advantage of them. A calm seemed to be attached to each of the people who were so seated.

The After Take: I am going to take our time with the photos taken on this small excursion, as there were so many very nice impressions that to toss them in all at once would be to deny us the chance to savor them as they seem to say that to me.  Oops, here I am letting you know that many of these pictures talk to me; not only when I am taking them, but almost every time I look at them after they have been developed and printed. Some are modest and others almost yell at me, you know, that "Look at me" sort of thing.

Hope you have a pond near you and it has some places that invite you to spend time with it.

Thanks for joining us for the current photo presentation. You are cordially invited to return Tuesday, July 3rd for a new picture that we hope you will enjoy.

Wishing you a great day.

It looks like there is some sort of trail that goes around it. Man what a great spot for a morning exercise.
