Cloudphabet

7/13/13

This set of photos was taken on June 11, 2013 at 5:58 AM.

The location was in the edge of the Georgetown area of Washington DC.

The "Take It!" was a very rushed thing in that I was driving in my car and looked up and saw the sky with an intensity that was a mix of clouds with the sunrise. I kept driving wanting to get a shot clear of as many buildings as I could and quickly enough realized that with each passing second the intensity and contrasts were diminishing. I stopped the car and took these two shots. It was not until later that I saw the letter P in the center of it all.

I cannot help but think it would be a fun challenge to collect letters over the course of time. Maybe even assemble a complete alphabet. Heck, I already have two letters, this one and the V that I was lucky enough to catch in Arizona in May.

The After Take: Everyone that has seen this set of photos enjoyed the distinctiveness of the letter P.  There is something to be said for instant recognition.

This was yet another lesson in taking what was available and not missing out by waiting for something that is fragile to improve. The old saying about it being as good as it is going to get applies in full measure with this circumstance.

Hoping you have a great day.

Regards,

Bruce

What a great challenge! Would take a long time to generate a database of the entire alphabet.

I can kind of see a M to the left of it. Its not quite as clear as the P, but with a little imagination its there.

The suns reflection on the clouds really bring it out.
